Mini meetings with Art. Children’s Day workshops – how is colour created?

To mark Children’s Day, the International Cultural Centre in Kraków invites you to a family workshop where we will immerse ourselves in the world of colours. We will learn how colours are created and what emotions and stories they can evoke. As always, we will also create our own artworks.

During the Children’s Day workshops, we will discover together some less obvious colours that evoke associations with childhood joy and summer. Each colour will serve as a starting point for a conversation about the emotions, associations and moods it evokes in us, as well as for exploring its various shades. We will also look at how colours are created, where they come from, and how they can be created and combined. Through a short game, you will be able to get a better feel for the character of a particular colour and “immerse” yourself in its world for a moment. We will examine colours up close, searching for the meanings and stories they may hold within them.

In the workshop section, participants will create their own realms – little worlds where colours transform into stories, emotions and fairy-tale realms.W części warsztatowej uczestnicy i uczestniczki stworzą własne krainy – małe światy, w których barwy zmieniają się w historie, emocje i bajkowe światy.

We’ll be meeting outdoors, in an atmosphere that’s perfect for getting active and having fun in the fresh air. There’ll be plenty of teamwork, colours and the shared joy of creating. We’ve prepared not only a variety of activities, but also little gifts and lots of great fun.

At the workshops, you’ll also meet your favourite educators: Beata, Agata, Viktoriia and Marcin. If anyone would like to speak Ukrainian, we also have Ukrainian-speaking facilitators among us.

Practical information:

• sessions are for children aged 4–10 accompanied by a carer,
• duration: 90 minutes,
• registration required (limited places, bookings open from 12 June),
• venue: Tajemniczy Ogród Społeczny przy Magistracie (Plac Wszystkich Świętych 3, 31-004 Kraków, location on the map)
• participation fee: 10 PLN (tickets must be purchased for children only).
