Roman Catholic Churches and Monasteries of the Former Trakai Voivodeship. Cathedral in Hrodna

The presented publication is yet another volume in the series discussing the monuments of religious art in the area of the former Trakai Voivodeship. It includes materials gathered from 1994 to 1998 during a preliminary inventory works conducted under the supervision of Professor Maria Kałamajska-Saeed, complemented with her research in Moscow and St. Petersburg from 2007 to 2014.

The volume contains analysis of the former Jesuit complex in Hrodna, which includes the church (the present cathedral), college and school (at present prison), pharmacy (also containing the rectory), corridors connecting the college with the church and the pharmacy, and the so-called old dormitory, whose walls are now part of the western wing of the bishop curia. Descriptions and analyses of architecture are accompanied by a complex presentation of the interior decorations, as well as of the permanent and mobile furnishings of the church.

The book contains an index of archive materials, bibliography, index of names and locations, as well as a list of illustrations.
