The Warsaw Ghetto. Places of Memory

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was the largest act of armed Jewish resistance against the Germans during World War II, undertaken as a result of the occupiers’ decision to liquidate the ghetto. Michal Krasucki, an art historian and preservationist in the capital, who has a special affinity for the history of 19th and 20th century architecture and Warsaw’s heritage, has created a personal atlas of emptiness, memorials and architecture. It is the eighth volume of the Heritology series under the editorship of Jacek Purchla and Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik.
